Contemporary detached house located in tree-lined grounds in Branksome Park, Poole. The design was carefully considered in order to take into account the tree constraints of the site. This resulted in a unique curved layout, allowing the dwelling to work in harmony with the setting, blending form and function seamlessly. The extensive use of glazing throughout the design submerses the interior in an abundance of light.
The double volume space on entering the property acts as the central ‘spine’ of the house, with a walkway above leading to the self-contained master suite. Externally materials have been carefully selected to complement the setting, with stone cladding, white render, and Parklex cladding creating a sympathetic palette.
Together with Balcombe Breeze, Sylvan Sonata has won the ‘Development of the Year (residential-small) category at the South Coast Property Awards 2018, and was also put forward as a Regional Finalist in this years LABC Building Excellence Awards, in the best New Small Housing Development category. DJA undertook the design & planning, interior architecture and technical design for this project, for MC Property Ventures.
